Three More Cathedrals Select Harlequin

Ripon, Gloucester and Hereford Cathedrals opt for Harlequin Software

Ripon, Gloucester and Hereford Cathedrals are the latest to choose Harlequin CRM and fundraising software, bringing the total number of cathedrals using the system to seven.

Tom Ellis, Managing Director of Harlequin comments: “Cathedrals are developing how they operate, managing multi-faceted campaigns and maximising the use of their unique spaces. Investing in software is much higher on the list of priorities for Chapter members and various trustees who recognise that many aspects of cathedral life can benefit from a robust technical infrastructure.”

In addition to helping to nurture relationships with congregations and supporters, Harlequin’s software enables cathedrals to manage voluntary income, major appeals, admission donations, Gift Aid, volunteers, hospitality and events.

Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust invested in Harlequin to help develop the work of the Trust, streamline processes and improve the potential of fundraising.

Glyn Morgan, Chief Executive at Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust says: “The service we have received from Harlequin has been superb. They guided us in the transfer of data, understanding how important access to our historical information is in relation to our future plans.

“Harlequin will be an integral part of our office systems, linking with our accounting package and our electronic communications. We will be able to learn more about those who kindly support us and improve our fundraising potential, and have visibility of what colleagues are doing both with individuals and donors.”

Ripon Cathedral replaced their outdated twelve year old Appeal Master system with Harlequin with the aim of all administrative areas of the Cathedral combining forces and working on one system.

Margaret Hammond, Campaign Manager at Ripon Cathedral Development Campaign explains: “The move to Harlequin will help bring together all the various aspects of Cathedral operations and will enable everyone to work smarter going forward. Another reason for choosing Harlequin over the competitors was down to it being a good value for money database system with friendly staff and a competitive ongoing cost.”

Gloucester Cathedral required new software to unite information in a centralised system that everyone could access and update, which would also underpin the work of its busy Development Team.

Theo Platt, Development Manager at Gloucester Cathedral shares why they chose Harlequin: “We contacted a number of cathedrals and Harlequin kept coming up – not only for delivering high quality software but for also providing quality maintenance and ongoing support.  Building a long-term relationship with a supplier was important to us and Harlequin stood out. ”

Tom Ellis concludes: “With three more cathedrals signing to Harlequin, we are delighted our software is becoming so popular in the cathedral sector.”

Cathedrals using Harlequin software are Gloucester, Hereford, Lichfield, Manchester, Ripon, Sheffield and Worcester.
